Gordana Radovanovic Rakulj real enchanting puppet of sock puppets and author of textiles. I was born in Belgrade. After graduating from middle school of design, I enrolled at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. I graduated in the class of statuary Tomislav Kauzlarić. In the last year I returned to an old love - making puppets from textiles.
Dolls I rules still in high school. After a certain break, I went on with their preparation during and after the study. The theoretical part of my thesis, by personal choice, was "Puppetry". Has always appealed to me making dolls, especially textiles. When I was a year ago began again to be true, it was just a logical continuation of my previous experience.
Dolls from stocking up for some time in the real world. When I saw them on the internet, completely won me over. I remembered her first doll that I still like girls do just the socks. I started to make them real, and after a certain time I come to own, original solutions. Making these dolls in the technical sense is not difficult, but the aesthetic is not simple. Must be controlled form, which due to the soft filling and stocking which is elastic, it can not escape, it looks bad and unconvincingly. Knowledge of forms and shapes helps me a lot. I'm trying to inject a humorous puppet note and personal poetics. I do it by selecting certain color, shape buttons, by the way l'm sewing thread and it drawing new eyes, mouth, nose. Applications and details made in uneven length and uneven thickness of the thread and carefully selected colors make sure that they are visually and aesthetically acceptable.
Inspiration is everywhere, in good illustration, film, dream episode in the life, music ... Work colleague for me has always been inspiring and a good incentive. For us little people engaged in making dolls. In a world that is not the case. There are technical universities, major magazines, exhibitions dedicated to the author's doll.
